Medical Oncology

Medical Oncology

St Vincent's Medical Oncology clinics treat patients with diagnosed or suspected solid tumours. New patients are usually seen within a few days. Urgent patient referrals can be seen without delay.

All new patients are discussed at multidisciplinary meetings. The Department of Oncology works collaboratively with Palliative Care, Psychosocial Cancer Care and other allied health professionals.

We communicate with general practitioners and other health professionals at specific times during the patient's cancer journey.

We have an active clinical trial portfolio and collaborate with Australian and international trial groups.

For new patient appointments the following are required: medical information, medical images and a list of current medications.

For urgent appointments and urgent patient enquries please call 9231 2211 and ask for the Oncology registrar or the on-call Oncologist.

Health Pathways

HealthPathways Melbourne is an online portal designed to be used by general practice at the point of care to guide best practice assessment, management and referral of common clinical conditions.

Please Note:
This is a public outpatient service. All patients need to be referred to us by a GP. Please see your GP if you believe you would benefit from a referral to this clinic. Many doctors have private consulting suites as well as working in the public hospital system. This is entirely separate from St Vincent’s and our staff do not have any information about the private consulting practices of doctors.
