The Victorian Department of Health has worked with stakeholders to develop state-wide referral criteria (SRC) to improve the access to specialist clinics in public hospitals by improving the quality and appropriateness of referrals. SRC exist for a range of medical and surgical presentations and conditions - More information. SRC are incorporated into HealthPathways advice, where applicable.

It is also available to medical specialists, nurses, allied health and other health professionals for use within their scope of practice.
