2021 Courses, Workshops and Study Days - A to Z

2-Day ECG Course

The Online ECG course is aimed at registered nurses who care for patients with cardiac monitoring and who are interested in developing their knowledge base and skills when interpreting 12 lead ECG's.

The Course is an 8 week self paced program and it is anticipated that you will be able to commit to 1-1.5hrs per week to complete the components. 

The course cover the following concepts:

The Cardiac Conduction System and Cardiac Monitoring
AV Blocks
Atrial Arrhythmias
Ventricular Arrhythmias
12 Lead ECG and Axis Interpretation
Ischemia and Infarction
Bundle Branch Blocks
Miscellaneous Conditions

You will undertake the course utilising OneNote Classroom under the guidance of a cardiac mentor. The material will also be reinforced with tutorial sessions.

This course costs $50 to undertake but is free for current critical care postgraduate nursing students and critical care PDY participants (please discuss this with your local educators).

Hepatitis C Course

This short course is aimed at nurses/doctors/allied health interested in developing their knowledge base and assessment skills in caring for patients with risk factors for viral hepatitis. The presentations will profile SVHM’s innovative practice models for identifying and curing people living with hepatitis C, including outreach care in prisons, at the Medically supervised Injecting room, in mental health and with in-patients.

VTE Workshop

This 1 hour virtual workshop is designed to increase knowledge and awareness of venous thromboembolism, disease state and prevalence. 
Participants will be able to better identify patients at risk of developing venous thromboembolism and better select appropriate prophylactic regimens.
