The accommodation provides residents with a comfortable home-like environment with modern facilities, private rooms, garden outlooks and access to domestic style kitchens. The facility also includes dedicated beds for aged people with mental health issues. Facility Name ‘Berengarra’ SVHM’s Monique Silk and the project team, in consultation with SVHM Aboriginal Health Unit, worked closely with Gail Smith, Wurundjeri Elder, to identify potential names for the facility. The agreed upon facility name is Berengarra, which means the land around Kew. Person-centred care means that services change to be more flexible to meet people’s needs in a manner that is best for them.
