Before During After (BDA) You are here:HomeOur ServicesDepartments and ServicesNNexus What is the Before, During After (BDA) Tool? Many people use drugs (alcohol, cannabis, caffeine, heroin etc) for various reasons but may not be ready, willing or able to stop their use so planning ways to reduce harm from drug use is important. The Before During After Harm Reduction Treatment Planning Tool, or BDA, is a practical, structured approach to discussing harm reduction with consumers. The BDA assists staff and consumers to explore ways of reducing harm and improving quality of life. The BDA has been endorsed by the St Vincent’s Integrated Care Committee for use across the mental health department.
