Our Services

St Vincent's Palliative Care Inpatient Services are conveniently located across two inner Melbourne campuses - Caritas Christi Hospice in Kew, and the Palliative Care Unit in Fitzroy.

The Palliative Care Consultation Service (PCCS) was established in 1998 to provide specialist palliative care consultation to clinicians, patients and families within St Vincent’s Hospital and other affiliate organisations, including St Georges and St Vincent’s Private Hospital.

We provide many services to meet a range of patient and family caregiver needs.

The after-hours telephone support service was established in the 1990s to support patients and caregivers who are clients of the following community palliative care services

The Palliative Day Care program provides respite during the day for people who are living in the community with a progressive life-threatening illness, but are well enough to enjoy a few hours away from home.

The Caritas Christ Day Centre offers a relaxed day of companionship for elderly people who are frail or isolated within the community.

St Vincent’s Palliative Care Services continues to foster and enhance expertise and developments in the provision of palliative care by maintaining a focus on research and education.
