Consumers Can Ask

The Consumers Can Ask (ConCA) booklet was updated in 2025. It is a companion to the Carers Can Ask (CCA) resource

The Royal Commission into Victoria’s Mental Health System recognised the human rights of people with mental health and substance use issues are to be respected at all stages of treatment, and for them to have more involvement in their own care. Nexus has worked with a range of consumers, staff and services to update the Consumers Can Ask resource (ConCA). The resource aims to assist discussion about treatment, discharge planning and post discharge support. It contains questions you can ask, a guide to services and other important information for consumers (people who access hospital and community mental health services and alcohol and other drug services) and staff.
