St Vincent's Nursing Alumni Scholarship
About the Alumni: About the Alumni: Established in 1923 by Ida O’Dwyer, the St Vincent’s Nursing Alumni provides support and fosters connections among both current and past nurses who have contributed to St Vincent’s over the decades. This scholarship aims to honour this tradition by supporting and connecting our nursing staff.
Eligibility: Open to current nursing staff enrolled in their first year of Postgraduate studies (Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma, or Master’s level) in 2026.
- Applicant must have commenced clinical Postgraduate studies in 2026.
- The course being undertaken is delivered by - a university or an accredited higher education provider and has a dedicated clinical component.
- The course leads to an award qualification at postgraduate level, including Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma or Master(s)
- Applicants must be full fee-paying students (recipients of a commonwealth-supported place (CSP) with their university are not eligible to apply). Evidence of course enrolment will need to accompany your scholarship application.
- Successful scholarship recipients will be required to remain employed with St. Vincent’s Public for a minimum 0.6 FTE pro rata equivalent in the clinical area of study for the duration of the course.
- Scholarship recipients must agree to work a minimum of 12 months beyond their postgraduate year in the clinical area of study at a minimum of 0.6 FTE pro rata equivalent.
Department of Health Aboriginal Nursing and Midwifery Postgraduate scholarship program 2024-2025

The Aboriginal Postgraduate Nursing and Midwifery Scholarship Program is for registered Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander nurses and midwives, who are seeking to or currently undertaking a postgraduate nursing or midwifery qualification and are currently employed within a Victorian public health service. The Aboriginal postgraduate nursing and midwifery scholarship program aligns with Aboriginal Health and Wellbeing Partnership Agreement and Action plan.
- Scholarship funding will support one year full-time or equivalent part-time study.
- It is anticipated that applicants will be commencing their studies in the 2024 or 2025 academic year.

Department of Health Postgraduate nursing scholarships are designed to support registered nurses to undertake clinical postgraduate studies, in priority clinical areas to address local workforce needs.
