Aboriginal Graduate Nurse Program

Applications for the 2023 RN Graduate Program open Monday 6 June 2022 and close Friday 8 July 2022.

Applying for our Graduate Nurse Program:

  1. Register with PMCV (Computer Match)
  2. Complete the online application for St Vincent’s Graduate Nurse Program via Workday on our website.

To be eligible for St Vincent’s Graduate Nurse Programs applicants must have Australian or New Zealand Citizenship or permanent residence status. Victorian, Interstate and New Zealand applicants must apply to both the PMCV Computer Match and to St Vincent’s Hospital.

International applicants can apply at the same time as everyone else but will only be considered post completion of the PMCV computer match process. Any vacant positions may then result in these candidates being considered.

 

Step 1 – Preparing your online application

The following documents are to be uploaded (either a separate Word document or PDF): 

  • Letter of application, addressed Attention to: The Graduate Nurse Coordinator, or Paula Titford and Sarah Britten, outlining why you wish to be a Graduate at St Vincent’s (maximum of one page).
  • Curriculum vitae (maximum of 3 pages).
  • Passport photo of self.
  • Academic transcript to date, with results legend.
  • Copies of your 2 most recent third year clinical placements reports. Clinical reports will need to be certified if not online. Reports must be sent in their entirety not selected parts or pages. If you have not completed a third year medical or surgical placement at the time of application, send your most recent second year medical/surgical placement report.
  • We do not accept Maternal Child & Health placements or Community placement reports.

Additional information required:

  • The name and details of one professional referee (must be a Clinical Teacher, Preceptor or a senior nurse to whom you have recently reported to). Ensure you inform your referee of your intention to list them.
  • All components of the application are considered when shortlisting applicants for interview.

Step 2 - Attending an interview
  • PMCV are coordinating this interview process for Victorian candidates but you will receive an email from the SVHM Graduate Nurse Coordinators if shortlisted for your interview to be viewed by end of July.
  • Our interview process is scheduled to take place from Monday 15 August to Friday 26 August 2022.
  • International & interstate candidates will be contacted by the Graduate Nurse Coordinators if shortlisted for interview directly by end of July. The interview dates are the same as above.

 

Step 3 - Outcome of PMCV Match
  • PMCV Computer Match results are released on Monday 3 October 2022. If you are successfully matched to St Vincent’s you will be contacted by phone within 48 hours.

Care of the Older Person Graduate Nurse Program

  • Enrolled Nurse Transition to Practice Program 

    Applications for the 2022 July and November intake open Monday 4 April and close Sunday 24 April 2022.

    Complete the online application for St Vincent’s Enrolled Nurse Transition to Practice Program via Workday on our website.
    To be eligible for the Enrolled Nurse Transition to Practice Program applicants must have Australian or New Zealand Citizenship or permanent residence status.

    Certified copies of your 2 most clinical placement reports. Reports must be sent in their entirety not selected parts or pages. 

    Additional information required:

    • The name and details of two professional referees (must be a Clinical Teacher, Preceptor or a senior nurse to whom you have recently reported to). Ensure you inform your referees of your intention to list them.
    • All components of the application are considered when shortlisting applicants for interview. Notification for an online interview will be emailed by Thursday 5 May 2022.

      Step 2 - Attending an interview
      Candidates will be notified via email if shortlisted for interview.
