Aboriginal Graduate Nurse Program

Applications for the 2019 program open on 12 June 2018 at 9.00am and close at 9.00am on 20 July 2018.

Applicants who are shortlisted for interview will be notified by the first week of August 2018.

Interviews will be held between 20 August and 24 August 2018. (Shortlisted Interstate or regional candidates will be offered the option of a phone interview).

Applying for our Graduate Nurse Program:

  1. Register with PMCV (Computer Match)
  2. Complete the online application for St Vincent’s Graduate Nurse Program via Workday on our website.

To be eligible for St Vincent’s Graduate Nurse Programs applicants must have Australian or New Zealand Citizenship or permanent residence status. Victorian, Interstate and New Zealand applicants must apply to both the PMCV Computer Match and to St Vincent’s Hospital.

International applicants apply only to St Vincent’s and will only be considered post completion of the PMCV computer match process. Any vacant positions may then result in these candidates being considered.

Step 1 – Preparing your online application

The following documents are to be uploaded (either a separate Word document or PDF):

  • Letter of application, addressed Attention to: The Graduate Nurse Coordinator, or Paula Titford and Ginny Walker, outlining why you wish to be a Graduate at St Vincent’s (maximum of one page).
  • Curriculum vitae (maximum of 3 pages).
  • Academic transcript to date, with results legend (certified copy).
  • Certified copies of your 2 most recent third year clinical placement reports. Reports must be sent in their entirety not selected parts or pages. (If you have not completed a third year medical or surgical placement at the time of application, please also send your most recent second year medical/surgical placement report.)
  • We do not accept Maternal Child & Health placements or Mental Health placement reports.

Additional information required:

  • Your Clinical Rotation preferences. See the Preference form attached to the advertisement.
  • The name and details of one professional referee (must be a Clinical Teacher, Preceptor or a senior nurse to whom you have recently reported to). Ensure you inform your referee of your intention to list them.

  • Allow approximately two hours.
  • Bring all original documents or certified copies of your application on the day of your interview.

Step 3 - Outcome of PMCV Match
  • PMCV Computer Match results are released on Tuesday 9 October 2018. If you are successfully matched to St Vincent’s you will be contacted by phone within 48 hours.

Care of the Older Person Graduate Nurse Program

  • Interviews will be held the week commencing 30 July 2018.
  • Complete the online application for the St Vincent’s Enrolled Nurse Graduate Program via Workday on our website.

Eligibility

  • Completed a Diploma of Nursing no earlier than December 2017.
  • Applicants must have Australian citizenship, permanent residence status or New Zealand Citizenship.
  • Available to commence the program on 1 October 2018.
