Aboriginal Graduate Nurse Program

Applications for the 2021 program are now CLOSED.

Applying for our Graduate Nurse Program:

  1. Register with PMCV (Computer Match)
  2. Complete the online application for St Vincent’s Graduate Nurse Program via Workday on our website.

To be eligible for St Vincent’s Graduate Nurse Programs applicants must have Australian or New Zealand Citizenship or permanent residence status. Victorian, Interstate and New Zealand applicants must apply to both the PMCV Computer Match and to St Vincent’s Hospital.

International applicants can apply at the same time as everyone else but will only be considered post completion of the PMCV computer match process. Any vacant positions may then result in these candidates being considered.

 

Step 1 – Preparing your online application

The following documents are to be uploaded (either a separate Word document or PDF):

Due to the recent COVID-19 situation, we understand some clinical placements have been disrupted and therefore, we will accept Mental Health reports if you have no other alternative.

  • Letter of application, addressed Attention to: The Graduate Nurse Coordinator, or Paula Titford and Sarah Britten, outlining why you wish to be a Graduate at St Vincent’s (maximum of one page).. 
  • Curriculum vitae (maximum of 3 pages).
  • Passport photo of self.
  • Academic transcript to date, with results legend (certified copy).
  • Certified copies of your 2 most recent third year clinical placement reports. Reports must be sent in their entirety not selected parts or pages. (If you have not completed a third year medical or surgical placement at the time of application, please also send your most recent second year medical/surgical placement report.)
  • We do not accept Maternal Child & Health placements or Mental Health placement reports.

Additional information required:

  • The name and details of one professional referee (must be a Clinical Teacher, Preceptor or a senior nurse to whom you have recently reported to). Ensure you inform your referee of your intention to list them.

All components of the application are considered when shortlisting applicants for interview. Notification for an online interview will be emailed mid August.

Step 2 - Attending an interview
  • Online interviews will be arranged by PMCV via SONRU for Victorian candidates.
  • Victorian candidates will be notified by the hospital via email if shortlisted for interview.
  • Other candidates (international and interstate will also be notified via email if shortlisted. Interviews to be scheduled for the first week of September for this group. 

 

Step 3 - Outcome of PMCV Match
  • PMCV Computer Match results are released on Monday 19 October 2020. If you are successfully matched to St Vincent’s you will be contacted by phone within 48 hours.

Care of the Older Person Graduate Nurse Program

  • Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, St Vincent's will not be recruiting this year to the 2020 Enrolled Nurse Graduate program.
