Prevocational PGY2 and BPT1 You are here:HomeCareersCareer OptionsMedical CareersPrevocational PGY2 and BPT1 Prevocational PGY2 Program The PGY2 program at St Vincent’s is designed to provide you with the generalist experience and foundational skills that is in line with the new National Framework for Pre-Vocational Trainees (NFPMT) framework. The PGY2 program will offer you the exposure to clinical care of patients in each of the following clinical experiences: A. Undifferentiated illness patient care B. Chronic illness patient care C. Acute and critical illness patient care As a successful Prevocational PGY2 resident, you will have the opportunity to nominate your rotation preferences. Example of Prevocational PGY2 Rotations include: Addiction Medicine Anaesthetics Colorectal Surgery Dermatology ENT Emergency Care Hospital in the Home ICU Neurology Orthopaedics Psychiatry Rehabilitation Upper GI surgery Urology Affiliated Hospitals: Warrnambool Base Hospital – Emergency Care Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre – Psychiatry Swan Hill District Health – Geriatrics and O&G Werribee Mercy Hospital – General Surgery and O&G Position Description BPT1 (PGY2) Program SVHM has built a solid reputation in recent decades, as a leading health service for Basic Physician Training (BPT). As a BPT, you will have exposure to a wide range of general and specialty medicine areas, along with solid mentorship and structured educational support, including bespoke tutorials and lectures. SVHM provides a well- supported environment for trainees undertaking the RACP PREP program. The hospital is accredited as a level 3 hospital by the RACP and has a structured and comprehensive training program providing individual support for all trainees. SVHM has an outstanding reputation over many years for success in the RACP examinations. As a successful BPT1 Resident, you will have the opportunity to nominate your rotation preferences.
