St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne opens new Drive-Through Vaccination Centre in Campbellfield

St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne has partnered with the Department of Health and Hume City Council to open a new drive-through COVID-19 Vaccination Centre. The centre is now taking bookings for Monday 23 August onwards at the former Ford factory site in Campbellfield.

Twelve car bays will be in operation from Monday 23 August, with roughly 2,000 Victorians to be vaccinated at the site each week and that number set to ramp up over time.

“St Vincent’s has a long history of taking care to our community and we are extremely proud that the Department of Health has again chosen to partner with our Hospital in operating this new centre,” said Angela Nolan, CEO, St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne.

“The centre will provide another option for residents in Melbourne’s north to get vaccinated against the virus. We urge anyone in the Hume area to check their eligibility and book an appointment as soon as possible. By getting vaccinated, you protect yourself and your family.”

Further details:

  • The drive-through centre will be open to Victorians eligible to receive the Pfizer vaccine from Monday 23 August, 2021. The AstraZeneca vaccine will also be available in the near future.
  • Bookings will be required for all drive-through vaccinations.
  • Bookings can be made via the online booking portal (portal.cvms.vic.gov.au) for “Ford Complex Drive Through COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic”. Or by calling the Victorian Coronavirus Hotline on 1800 675 398.
  • Walk-in vaccinations are not currently available but will become available in the coming weeks.
In March, St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne established Victoria’s first high-volume vaccination centre at the Royal Exhibition Building in Carlton. Since then, its Vaccination Team has delivered more than 170,000 vaccinations to protect the Victorian community against COVID-19.

St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne is also proud to partner with Hume City Council to deliver this new service in Campbellfield, recognising their existing strong connection with the local community.

The Campbellfield site is one of four drive-in vaccination hubs announced by the Premier that will operate across Victoria, with the others in Melton, Sandown Racecourse in Springvale, and Eagle Stadium in Werribee.
