Part Time and Paired Internship

St Vincent's Hospital is committed to assist Interns and Junior Medical Staff with flexible working arrangements. This includes the ability to complete your Internship in a part-time or paired Internship capacity.

5.1 Part time internship

Part Time Internship

Completing your Internship in a part time capacity means fulfilling your required rotations to gain General Registration over a 2 year period.

  • Working arrangements will be bespoke to your job-share arrangement
  • As a part-time Intern you may still be required to complete a rotation at one of our secondment Hospitals

If you are interested in a part-time Internship, please first contact Sheila Bryan at PMCV (sbryan@pmcv.com.au)

Then please contact SVHM Medical Education (SVHM.Education.medical@svha.org.au). We will arrange an additional interview with you to discuss your individual circumstances and answer any questions you may have.

Paired Internship

St Vincent's Hospital also supports Medical Students applying for Internship as paired candidates. Please follow the process outlined on the PMCV website and identification of your paired candidate number.

Other important information to be aware of:

  • Your applications will be considered separately; however you will be ranked together.
  • Your ranking will be determined by the candidate with the lowest overall score
  • In the event of successful employment with St Vincent's Hospital, please note we are not able to guarantee identical/similar rotations to your paired partner; we will of course take this into consideration on a case-by-case basis
