The Preconception and Pregnancy Inflammatory Bowel Disease specialised clinic has been established to ensure women with IBD who are pregnant or considering pregnancy are well informed and have the best chance of a successful pregnancy.

St Vincent’s gastroenterologist Associate Professor Sally Bell, who is a national expert in the field of IBD and Pregnancy, runs this clinic along with fellow IBD specialist Dr Emma Flanagan.

The clinic operates weekly on Wednesday mornings and is open to all women with IBD who are pregnant or considering pregnancy. The clinic provides dedicated education and counselling for patients in regard to pregnancy-related IBD issues including IBD medications, as well as offering close monitoring of IBD throughout pregnancy.

Under the care of Associate Professor Bell, Brodie Dupre has had two successful pregnancies whilst taking infliximab for Crohn’s disease.
