Chris currently manages Nexus Dual Diagnosis Consultation Service and the Department of Addiction Medicine at St Vincent's Hospital, Melbourne. Chris has a professional background in Nursing - originally a mental health (MH) nurse he has also done General nursing and specialised for over 20 years in Child and Adolescent MH. Over his career he has always had a keen interest and passion for working with complex clients, their families and the equally complex service systems that support them. In addition he has worked as an alcohol and other drug (AOD) worker in the Adolescent Forensic space for a number of years; and in his current Dual Diagnosis and Addiction Medicine roles continues to actively engage with and support treatment and support services for people impacted by addiction and related health issues.

Kevan has been at Nexus since 2005, having previously worked in clinical mental health services for over 15 years. He has experience in community and inpatient settings across NSW and Victoria, as well as the UK. Kevan completed a Masters of Social Work at La Trobe University in 2003 and is currently a PhD candidate at Monash University's Department of Social Work, Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Science. His research is focused on the Reasons For Use Package. Kevan is on the Executive of the Yarra Drug and Health Forum, an active member of the Yarra Mental Health Alliance and a member of the international body MINT (Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers).

Simon Kroes Senior Dual Diagnosis Clinician 9231 3804

Simon is a senior dual diagnosis clinician at Nexus Dual Diagnosis Service, St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne and started there in 2010. Simon has worked in various settings including community based mental health, crisis services, Aboriginal and community health and local government amongst others. He has a keen interest in developing practical resources for health and welfare staff, consumers and carers as evidenced by his numerous contributions. In 2011 he developed the initial concept and prototype of the Reasons for Use Package which he developed further with colleague Kevan Myers. In November 2016 he won a commendation from Tandem (Peak body for families and carers of people experiencing mental ill health) for his work on the  Carers Can Ask resource which aims to assist carers in having more meaningful conversations with service providers. he is also the instigator and chairperson of the North East Dual Diagnosis Youth network (NEDDY) which aims to develop best practice integrated care for young people who have dual diagnosis issues. More recently he has been building the evidence base for the Before During After (BDA) package which contains a new harm reduction tool.

Merissa, a senior clinician with Nexus Dual Diagnosis Consultation Service at St Vincent's Hospital, has worked in direct practice and capacity building roles for the likes of Depaul House, VAADA and YSAS. A Jill-of-all-trades Social Worker, Merissa is passionate about reducing stigma around substance use and mental health.

Ange Wallace Senior Dual Diagnosis Clinician 9231 2083

Ange started at Nexus in early 2018, having previously worked in clinical mental health, alcohol and other drug services, gambling and youth justice services. She has also worked for two other Dual Diagnosis services prior to 2010. Ange is a psychologist who has worked in a variety of settings, including prisons, community and ehealth. She also has a background in management and business.
