Scholarships 

The Andrew Dent Scholarship is offered each year to health sector students who need support to undertake volunteer work, electives or study trips that aid people in the Pacific Region.

The scholarship is open to individual students in the health sector to help support volunteer work, student electives and study trips within the Pacific Islands region. It is hoped that an experience of working and living in the Pacific as a student will lead to a life-long professional and personal link with the region which will benefit both the individual student and the Pacific Islanders they encounter.  Applications close on October 31st every year. 

This year’s scholarship recipient, Jacinta Carty, spent four weeks in Vanuatu. You can read about her experience in her Scholarship Report 2011. You can also read the following previous recipients' reports:  

• Scholarship Report 2010: Samoa - Katrina Hannan spent four weeks at the Tupua Tamasese Meaole Hospital in Apia, Samoa.
• Schoarship Report 2010: Vanuatu - Kasia Michalak spent three weeks at the Northern Districts Hospital in Espiritu Santo in northern Vanuatu.
• Scholarship Report 2009: Samoa - Rami Subhi's also spent four weeks in Samoa.
