The St Vincent's Foundation provides an important link between the hospital and individual donors, corporate and business sector supporters, community groups, external trusts and foundations, sponsors and those wishing to leave a legacy or gift in their Will.
The ongoing support of the community is critical – not only to meet the immediate needs of our patients but also to fund longterm development (capital), training and research programs.
With the help of philanthropy, St Vincent’s has grown to encompass a world class acute hospital, rehabilitation centre, mental health service, prisoner healthcare, a home-nursing service, a research institute, a first class teaching school and a broad range of ambulatory care services including a comprehensive specialist consultants’ service.
St Vincent's Foundation was established in 1998 to initiate and coordinate fundraising activities for the support of the hospital and its related services. The Foundation Director is a member of the executive. The Foundation is overseen by a board of governors which is a subcommittee of the St Vincent's Board.
