Protocol for sign off on various types of Research Grant Applications
Researchers should note that, depending on the level of external funding they are applying for, St Vincent's has levels of Delegations of Executive Authority for signing off on such applications (e.g. to the NHMRC).
The protocol describes these levels, and the required actions which the Director of Research at St Vincent’s is bound to for approval or recommendation. Please refer to the protocol and note the actions required and the timelines implied as a result.

All applications should be submitted to the St Vincent's unit responsible for administration of the award by the internal closing date.
The Research Governance Unit closing date is 2 weeks before the funding agency closing date to allow time for checking compliance with funding agency requirements, obtaining relevant signatures and preparing the documentation to be sent to the funding agency. To allow for allocation of time for application reviews, an email advising of your intention to submit should be sent to research.ethics@svhm.org.au at the commencement of the application process.
If you anticipate that you will be submitting your application late, please contact the relevant primary contact in the unit responsible for administration (see below) to advise. There is no guarantee that late submissions will be accepted.

Please ensure that you correctly identify the Administering Institution for each application.
Where an application is submitted with St Vincent's as the Administering Institution and the successful award is then transferred to another Administering Institution a fee of $500.00 will be charged. (This fee does not apply where the Principal Researcher relocates to another organisation).
