The Aikenhead team is passionate about the potential of engineered solutions to medical problems. We are already designing, fabricating, characterising and simulating the performance of the body using man-made or organic materials. We are fine-tuning devices and manipulating them in an effort to make them work with the human body.

Nanotechnology is being used to create minute implants to interact at the cellular and molecular level with living tissues. Almost beyond the imagination – but real. And happening today. It’s not hard to anticipate the commercial opportunities on a global scale.
