What types of medical services are offered to people at St. Vincent's Clinics?

People visit St. Vincent's Clinics for a range of services, including:

  • Attending a medical or surgical consultation either before you are admitted to hospital or after you have gone home.
     
  • Visiting an allied health professional that you have been referred by medical or nursing staff. The following allied health services are offered at St. Vincent's Hospital:
    • Physiotherapy
    • Occupational Therapy
    • Social Work
    • Prosthetics & Orthotics
    • Speech Pathology
    • Nutrition
    • Podiatry
       
  • Tests As a patient at St. Vincent's Clinics, you might have to have pathology tests (such as a blood or urine test) or go to medical imaging for an x-ray, CT scan, ultrasound or MRI. 

When are the clinics open?

St. Vincent's Clinics are open from 8.30am-4.30pm, Monday to Thursday.

Please arrive on-time as the service is very busy. We regret that there are delays sometimes and suggest that you bring something to read in the waiting room. Please also allow for the possibility of extended waiting times if you are driving in and plan to park on the street in a restricted time zone.

How do I get to St. Vincent's Clinics?

Driving Limited day parking is available at:

  • Public car park beneath the In-patient Services Building. Enter from Fitzroy Street off Victoria Parade. A lift from the car park goes directly to the foyer of the main Hospital building.
  • Public car park at the Exhibition Building/Melbourne Museum. Enter from Rathdowne Street off Nicholson Street, Carlton.
  • Public car park behind St Vincents & Mercy Private Hospital. Enter from Fitzroy Street off Victoria Parade.
  • Meter parking spaces in the streets near the Hospital. Council parking officers are vigilant so take care to note the parking restrictions.

Public Transport services:

  • City loop train station at Parliament (5 minute walk)
  • 86 & 96 trams stop on Nicholson Street
  • 23, 24, 30, 34, 109 trams all stop on Victoria Parade
