Caritas Christi Hospice

Caritas Christi Hospice provides palliative care and aged care services across two inner Melbourne campuses.

Palliative care is the care of people with a life-threatening disease that cannot be cured. The main aims of palliative care are control of pain and other symptoms along with attention to the patient's psychological, emotional and spiritual concerns.

There are 28 beds located at the Kew campus along with a day hospice and community day care centre.

At the Fitzroy campus there are 26 beds co-located with the acute services of St. Vincent's Hospital Melbourne.

Caritas Christi was opened in 1938 by the Sisters of Charity and plays a leading role in the training of health professionals in palliative care.
