The St. Vincent’s Hospital Pacific Health fund was set up with the following aims:
- To promote, provide and enable opportunities for medical and other health worker related education in the Pacific Region
- To assist in capacity building of health services and personnel through provision of directed grants to institutions and individuals for specific projects.
- To establish and promote linkages between St. Vincent’s Hospital, Melbourne and health workers and health institutions, particularly the mission sector, in the Pacific region
The fund is a managed through the St. Vincent’s Foundation office by a Committee of volunteers who have an interest in or have worked in PNG and Pacific Islands. It is financed by donations. Management costs are minimised so that close to 100% of the fund goes directly to projects identified.
