St. Vincent’s Foundation
Each year gifts from the community and special events assist St.
Vincent's Health to provide the highest quality in patient health care
and facilities, the latest in medical technology, valuable resources to
advance medical research, teaching and training of healthcare
professionals, support of those most vulnerable in the community.
While the majority of fundraising initiatives and activities are
coordinated through the St. Vincent's Hospital Foundation , all funds
raised are applied to priorities identified across the whole of St.
Vincent's Health's services whether they be located at St. Vincent's
Hospital Melbourne, Caritas Christi Hospice, St. Georges Health Service
or Prague House.
Our vision for a Cancer Centre that provides the best of
care
Major Capital Appeal From November 2008, St. Vincent’s hospital will be running a Capital
Appeal to raise $14.8 million for the first two stages of a new Cancer
Centre at the hospital.
We extend an invitation to you to become involved in what will be a
truly inspirational facility. Our vision is to create a centre that will
provide the very best of care to the thousands of Victorians who come to
St. Vincent’s each year for our special standard of Cancer Care.
Construction is due to commence in May 2009.
Our appeal will be chaired by Mr Greg Hargrave, Managing Director and
CEO of Skilled Engineering. Mr Frank Costa, Executive Chairman of the
Costa Group, and President of the Geelong Football Club will be the
Deputy Chairman. Prof Peter Choong (Director of Orthopaedics) and Prof
Rod Sinclair (Director of Dermatology) will also be on the Committee.
