Leisure Resource Library

The Leisure Resource library is a new and innovative service that provides various therapeutic activities that care staff can borrow to use in their residential care facility in order to improve the quality of life for residents.

The initiative aims to improve care staffs’ understanding of the importance of activities in the day to day life of residents in their care.

Furthermore, it aims to educate residential care facility staff about how and what activities may be used with different residents. The library will loan activity resources to care staff as well as provide regular newsletters and quarterly in-services on the provision of therapeutic activity.

The Leisure Resource Library houses many different leisure/activity products that can be used in facilities. The resources available include activities that provide cognitive stimulation, sensory stimulation, reminiscence, physical activity and activity for people with dementia.  The library also provides access to an extensive range of activity based books.
