Outpatient Clinics

Clinical Haematology provides specialist care for patients with general haematological disorders including:

 - lymphomas

 - chronic leukaemia

 - multiple myeloma

 - anaemia

 - thrombotic and general bleeding disorders.

 - privatised bulk-billed clinics available

 

Appointments are prioritised based on clinical urgency. Please provide the following information:

 - reason for referral

 - recent investigations

 

Urgent Referrals
Patients with one or more of the following should be discussed with a consultant or the clinical haematology registrar and can usually be seen within 24 hours.

-  suspected acute leukaemia

-  rapidly enlarging lymph nodes

-  neutrophils < 0.5 x 109/ L, Hb < 80 g/ L or platelets < 20 x 109/ L.

-  other clinically urgent referrals

 

Private Clinics

These clinics are either bulk-billed or billed at Medicare rebate.  Patients requiring interpreter services should be booked through the hospital clinic.  Patients with uncomplicated haemochromatosis should be preferentially seen in private clinics.
