Orthopaedics 

 

Referrals are welcomed for both general orthopaedic and the following sub-specialty areas:

  • musculoskeletal tumour surgery – for urgent tumour referrals phone (03) 9288 3980
  • joint replacement surgery
  • shoulder surgery 
  • reconstructive limb surgery
  • sports surgery
  • foot and ankle surgery
  • arthritis clinic 

Please Note: If patients are to be triaged for Orthopaedics we need an actual copy of the Imaging Result/Ultrasound.

 

The orthopaedic clinic does not accept referrals for spinal problems or hand problems. For spinal problems refer to neurosurgery or the Royal Melbourne or Austin hospitals.

Best Practice Referral form

This is a public outpatient service. All patients need to be referred to us by a GP. Please see your GP if you believe you would benefit from a referral to this clinic. Many doctors have private consulting suites as well as working in the public hospital system. This is entirely separate from St Vincent’s and our staff do not have any information about the private consulting practices of doctors.
