Take the first
step - choose the best place to start your career...
A large number of our graduate nurses each year
choose to remain with St. Vincent's post
their Graduate Nurse Program. Career
Information Sessions are conducted throughout
September providing Graduates with important
information on the opportunities available at
STV such as Grade
2 Year 1 Clinical Rotational Program, Casual Nurse Banks,
Postgraduate Studies,
and Unit Positions.
Grade 2 Year
1 Clinical Rotational Program
This highly sought after program
following the GNP is offered only to St Vincent’s
graduates. It is popular with those who are still
unsure of which area of nursing they wish to
specialise in, or who want to gain further
experience before specialising, and perhaps
undertaking postgraduate study.
This year we have 26 nurses rotating
through 3 acute clinical areas (many completing a
medical, surgical and specialty/high dependency
rotation). We also have 3 nurses rotating through a
sub acute clinical rotational program where the
emphasis is on caring for the older person
(completing a rotation in orthopaedics,
rehabilitation and with the aged care assessment
team). There is a challenging education program &
preceptorship support to complement the year.
Postgraduate
Courses
Many of our postgraduate courses
are run in affiliation with the University of
Melbourne, with some offering scholarships.
The Postgraduate Diplomas in Advanced
Clinical Nursing currently offered include:

Casual Nurse
Bank
There are several Casual Nurse Banks operating
across SVHM, which offer you the ultimate flexibility
and control of your own roster. You are able to
choose your shifts, indicate preferred clinical
areas, and gain experience in a variety of clinical areas.
It is ideal for nurses planning to travel or pursuing
additional study. |
